Offscreen is a quarterly print magazine built around 8 lengthy interviews with digital creators. It aims to tell “the less obvious human stories of creativity, passion and hard work that hide behind every interface”, and from the video it looks & sounds fantastic.

They are raising funds on Kickstarter and only have 3 days to go — so if this sounds like your cup of tea, head over and make a pledge.

The first issue already sounds great, with the contributions lined up from: Andrew Wilkinson, Lisa Bettany, Ji Lee, Dan Cederholm, Ryan Singer, Benjamin de Cock, Drew Wilson, Blake Whitman, Rob Morris, Tim van Damme, Sam Brown, and more…

For a good part of this year I’ve been working with the guys here at Cactuslab on a new site called Letterboxd. It’s a site for film lovers; a place where you can keep a log of the films you watch, rate or review them, and keep up with what your friends have been watching. The site is in private beta at the moment, and I’ve got some invites to give out — so if that sounds like your cup of tea, fire me a quick message with your email address using the “Ask Me” link on my blog.

Last November, my wife and I travelled with a few friends to Japan. Here’s the edited video highlights, including boating down the Hozu River, monkeying about at Shibuya Crossing and visiting the Tsukiji fish markets.

I was fortunate enough to be on this trip, and Matt has done an amazing job putting together the video. I travelled light and only took photos with my iPhone, so it’s fantastic to have something like this :)

ZEN audio player is the latest HTML5-CSS3 experiment from Simurai, and it makes me yearn for the not-too-distant future when all browsers will support such things. If you haven’t already, it’s worth taking a look through his other experiments.
